meet: megan. r. smith

Founder & President Megan R. Smith has the know how and the extensive contact list to take any individual or company to the next level. A native of Washington, D.C. and 2005 graduate of Temple University with a B.A. in Journalism, Smith is a creative writer and skilled communicator with several years of experience providing PR and event planning services mid-¬ to large-¬size companies and select individuals. Within the first 6 months of starting Brownstone PR in 2007, she had amassed a tot al of 10 clients. Smith has a knack for making Brownstone clients stand out from the pack and taking them to the very top, as evidenced by the strong features she has secured in media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, KYW radio, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Forbes, Black Enterprise, Glamour and Philadelphia Style, to name a few.

Smith herself has been quoted by such media sources as CN8, Your Morning Show, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Business Journal, The Washington Post and Essence, along with being profiled in the March 2010 issue of Black Enterprise, Rittenhouse Magazine’s Young Entrepreneurs issue, and currently serving as the Philadelphia Public Relations columnist for Examiner.com.

Smith currently serves on the Boards of the National Academy Foundation, Green Tree School, the African American Chamber of Commerce, PA,NJ,DE, and Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, and is a member of the Friends of the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and the National Urban League.

meet: jennifer chapple ingram

Jennifer Chapple Ingram oversees media relations and digital and social communications management. With more than nine years professional experience, she is disciplined in the many facets of public relations, advertising, supplier diversity, social media and business consulting. She has had the privilege to work with many clients in B2B, B2C, tech, healthcare, education, media, arts and entertainment, hospitality and tourism, and not-for-profit, among others.

Prior to joining the agency, she served as the Assistant Vice President, Client Services for Millennium 3 Management, under the leadership of A. Bruce Crawley.

Chapple Ingram holds an accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America, and currently sits on the board of Mighty Writers, a 501©3 organization dedicated to teaching Philadelphia children literacy and writing.

Chapple Ingram is an alumnus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

meet: elysse ciccone

Elysse Ciccone oversees media relations implementation, writing and copywriting, and social media engagement for Brownstone PR clients. To get the creative juices flowing, Ciccone writes web content and client blog posts for clients, while also crafting social media calendars for clients. On many days, she can also be found tweeting on behalf of many Brownstone PR corporate clients.

Ciccone is a 2013 graduate of Monmouth University with a B.A. in Communication, with a dual focus in Public Relations and Journalism.  Before joining the Brownstone PR team, Ciccone was an intern with APVibe, Downtown Asbury Park Inc., the marketing presence for Downtown Asbury Park, NJ, representing 70+ members, including businesses in art, music, dining, and retail. She served as the manager and main contributor to APvibe.com, creating featured business profiles, blog posts, and event listings, along with planning, promoting and executing events and managing the organization’s social media accounts.
